It's about time we have a new anime/manga to talk about. Lol. There haven't been any new threads here recently. Not that it matters that much..^^
Well anyway, Hikaru no Go is one of my favourite manga/anime of all time! Usually I like the manga of a series and don't enjoy the anime as much but Hikaru no Go is one of the few where I actually enjoy both as much as the other!
For those of you who don't know what Hikaru no Go is... it's about a boy called Hikaru who is up in his Grandfather's attic looking for old stuff to sell when a 1000 year old ghost called Sai attaches himself to Hikaru. Only Hikaru and see and hear him. This ghost called Sai is obsessed with the board game 'go' and so Hikaru is forced to play the game. He meets a rival, Touya and eventually gets dragged into the 'go world'.
Ok that sounds weird.. it's kind of hard to explain really but it's really good! Everytime I pick up a random chapter to read, I get hooked again. My favourite character is Touya Akira and Sai! Who's yours? (for those who have read it)

WAYA! omg WAYA! *giggles*
Yeah, I used to watch this show a lot when it first came out. even read some of the manga and tried to play the game. lol
Sai. *sighs* He cracks me up with his childish antics. Not too fond of serious Sai though as... Serious Sai is boring Sai. Childish "I wanna play go *whines*" sai is funny.

Sai when he first sees all the new things is so funny! Like the umbrella and tv and the vending machine.

I know ;_; People should. Sure it sounds like it would be stupid because of the topic but... D: it's really quite good.
People read Yakitake! Japan annnnd I don't get it. I tried reading it.
Hikaru no go > Yakitake Japan
(personal opinion)

I haven't read Yakitake Japan before. What's that about? (off topic... -_-;; )
But yea, alot of people are put off from reading Hikaru no Go because of the fact that it's about a board game. They think it'll be boring.

Baking bread. ; On topic ---> yeah. I'm fine with the people who tried reading it and thought it was boring, but not those who haven't read it but think its boring ; those people confuse me. I've actually tried to play go before. it's quite fun when playing with friends who barely know how to play.

Baking bread? I see... I always thought it was something else.
I've played Go before too. My sister and I even went and bought a magnetic go board but she never wants to play with me so it's hard to find someone to play with. And I'm too scared to play online because I'm so bad at it. ^^;;

X3 well, Yakitake means freshly baked or something like that D: (my japanese is horrible and I forget the real translation) and Pan = bread. and as there is French Bread and other random bread the characters are like " ! Lets make Japan Bread! We'll call it JAPAN!" cause they're dorks like that. X3 I like playing online. I suck but at least it's fun and you can learn *nods* My grandma had a go set which was weird... so I took it from her. Cause, she didn't need it. Apparently has had it since my mom was a kid or something. Mine's cardboard though. I have a friend who bought a real go set :x

A real Go set would be so much fun to play with! I always tell myself I should go try and play online again but I can never be bothered.

lol. I haven't played online in a long time. I haven't really played go in a long time either @_@;
but yeah, it is pretty cool. hers is really small though. by really small I mean it's about 1/2 inch thick and no feet. So, it's really simple but still awesome.

That's still cool! Seeing one with feet would be great.. but there's no point getting such a good board if we don't even play often.
