I guess this is the right place to post this.. soo... anyone like The Phantom of the Opera? Phantom is like my most favorite thing ever. Have yall seen the stage show or any phantom adaptions apart from ALW's 2004 movie? I'm like, totally obsessed. My room is decorated all phantom of the operaish and I collect everything ever phantom. There's a lot more I could say about my Phantom phandom but I'd feel like I'm trying to show off or something and thats not cool.. XD But ask and I shall tell ~ (psst I totally think someone should make a Phantom TCG... I'd totally join, heck I'd make it myself but I dont know anything about making/running a TCG XD)

*takes a deep breath* I. Can't. Stand. The. Movie.
It sucked.
-_-
Also am extremely bothered by people who've only seen the movie and go "OMG I'm a huge poto fan!"
sorry had to get that off my chest.
I adore the Broadway Phantom.
^_^ No one should play the parts of Christine or the Phantom save for Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford. I actually have their signatures some where on the playbill from when I saw it in Portland. :3
My mom has seen it on Broadway 3 times (I think) and has the broadway CD and I've listened to that 100+ times. -_- which is pathetic. but I love it.
Can't read the book. I tried, it was boring. xD
*sighs* Sorry about that part at the top. xD Couldn't stand the movie though and everyone in my highschool was like "OMG! It's the best thing evar!" and I"m like "NO. They can't sing the parts! WATCH THE OPERA! 10000000000000000000000 times better!" but yeah. x3 I suppose the acting was good... But after seing the opera D: yeah...
*hides in a corner from anyone hating her now*

I tried watching the movie.. I couldn't really get into it. We sang the songs in Chorus and stuff so I like the music, but not the movie.

Yeah, I didn't care for the movie too much (except Minnie Driver as Carlotta <3).
I've yet to see Phantom on Broadway but I saw the US tour once and I've seen the new vegas production 3 times (twice last week, actually XD).
I disagree about the original cast though - They're alright, I love Michael's acting but the singing not so much. Plus there's plenty of other actors and actresses (sp?) who play the part well (Gary Mauer is my favorite Phantom <3)
I'm so glad I'm not the only person who found the original novel boring! I feel like such a bad phan, although I did read it through once (and attempted a second time, but gave up a couple chapters into it).
Gerry's acting was good, but Emmy's was...ick XD
Natsumi - you should see the musical then, as Akiko said, it's 10000000000000000000000 times better. XD

I'm glad we all feel the same about hte movie! Carolotta was pretty good and so was Madame Giry... but her daughter... errr.... >.< forgot her name. Madame Giry's daughter was also good <3

Actually, the whole musical was made for Sarah Brightman ^.^ You know since she was ALW's wife or whatever... I looooved Carlotta (Aside from Phantom/Erik, Carlotta is definatly my favorite character). [psst - her name is Meg Giry ] But yeah the movie deserves some credit - if it wasnt for the movie I'd never be a phantom fan, and I'm sure there's plenty of others the same. ^.^

ah, well theres a LOT more phantom for you to ....discover? then. XD
There's at least 4 musical versions, 10+ movies, 500 books (XD well, a lot anyways), a few ballets, a bunch of plays... and there's even a cartoon version!
