So, many of us have said what we're studying in college, and I was curious what everyone does for a living. Or some side money, since I know some of you are still in high school. I'm a waitress. Hooray for being the public servant. Not.

Um, I'm an animation student :3 I used to work in the most popular pizza place in my town, and I loved it there~ This summer though, I worked in a local shoe store. I didn't like it so much =_= I was happy to quit <3

I'm going to be starting college in the spring. :x I'll be majoring in Graphic Design.
For a job? I work with my Dad. XD He's a bathroom remodeler/tile setter. So I get to do the grunt work & grout the tiles after he's laid them. XD It's hard work.

I work as a clerk at a pharmacy. I do a lot of standing/running around grabbing boxes and stuff, 9 hours through at a whack. It leaves me pretty exhausted, but the pay is nothing to really complain about.

Student! Still. I do volunteer work, though. I probably should have gotten a paying job this summer to earn money for stuff, but I didn't, and I wouldn't have had time for it once school starts anyway.
I was going to work at American Eagle since I know people there, but I'm way too unsocial for that.

I'm a full-time student as my main "job" really.
I worked as a sales associate (RETAIL FTW) at a kitchen store for 2 years during high school and then when I was in community college. This summer, I was an intern for the city government's purchasing division; that's still basically my job, since they want me to come back whenever I have time/am able. (We do accounts payable stuff for the city. So in short, we pay the bills for the big-time operation!)

Techno-geek extrordinaire by day. Bochu master by night. XD Seriously, I work at a pharmacy as well. Doing tech support and network administration, though - they don't let me in the room with all the nice drugs...

Nash, maybe they know about your obsession with Rei-san. That's why they won't let you in the pretty room with all the drugs. Sam: I can definitely see why you'd quit a shoe store. Who wants to smell dirty feet all day? And Smam, I can't believe you do grout/tile work. Haha, I didn't expect that! It is hard work. Dirty work too. I wouldn't mind working in a kitchen store... I did that a couple years ago, a kitchen store/gift shop. I had a lot of fun there. Maybe I can find some place like that to work when I move. Probably Bed, Bath, and Beyond though is my only option 'cause they don't have cool little stores where I'm moving. That pay anything, haha.

Smam: D: Don't let the graphic design student work kill you please. T_____T I had to change degrees cause I became way too stressed out and sick from all the work *hugs* xD Not to scare you... it was fun :3
I by far have the best job. xD j/k
I work for the state entering in traffic convictions all day on to driver's records. :3 DMV HEADQUARTERS FTW!
cause HQ gives better customer service than the field offices... who give DMV a bad rep D:
pay is okay x3 Wish it were more so I'd actually have money this month D:

I'm a studio art student during the school year, and like Mousey, that is my main "job" since I'm making it through college mostly by scholarships ^^; And as Akiko mentioned with graphic design, it gets stressful at times and there isn't a lot of free time for other stuff. The homework is highly time consuming, not to mention I'm already really slow when it comes to it ^^; I think I got an average of 5 hours of sleep per night, and 5 hours of free time a day (including time eating etc) if I was lucky. The second to last week of school was so bad, I think I got maybe 10 hours of sleep that entire week while trying to finish all my class projects. But as long as you can manage that, it's really fun ^_^ And people definitely enjoy looking at your school work and seeing what you're up to more than other majors Although it does annoy me when people think I chose art because I'm not "smart" enough for other majors. I did honors/AP stuff all through high school and did fine, thank you I just have no idea what I want to do with my life and thought art would at least be fun and open to choices XD But as for a money making job... I do work study. Poverty ftw xD I work in the school Admissions building and input all the information we get from prospective students into the system, and fill out information packets full of random stuff to send back to them. And on a good day, I get to shred papers. It's not very exciting, and I don't get paid much because I only work a few hours a week, but the hours are flexible and at least it's something. I didn't want a summer job, because I'm lazy and living off my parents until I return to my dorm ;D

@ Smam: Yeah another art major Woot! Good luck~ @ Azora: I didn't mind the feet, really... It's the standing for 10+ hours that killed me... @ TMF: Another art student, wow XD Your program sounds intense, but it probably helps that you're on scholarship and work study~ I'm trying to get work study at my college too... I almost got a position in my art college's Media Center last semester; I'm hoping a spot opens up there this coming year too : )

Yeah, art is one of those majors that people tend to drop out of all the time, not because it's too boring, but because it's just hard to fit in your art classes while still trying to take "normal" requirements ^^; At my school, you're required to take at least two art classes per term if you want to graduate in four years. I couldn't get a single science class last year because of schedule conflicts I'm amazed at people who manage to double or triple major with art being one of their areas o.o But yes, not NEEDING to have a job in order to make it through college is very nice. I wouldn't mind having more money, but then again, I do prefer free time over having a full wallet x3 I grew up being poorish, so I'm used to being frugal and not spending money if need be ;P @ Sam: Good luck with your search, hope something works out for you @ Latara: Scantrons! <3 I think I only used about 10 of those last year, not many of my classes did multiple choice tests ^^;
